Support that Meets a Sudden Hardship
The Financial Assistance Grants program is run by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and funded by the VFW Foundation. It provides direct grants to active-duty service members and military families when an unexpected hardship, such as a deployment, an injury, or a sudden loss of income, threatens the basics. For a family, that can mean staying in their home, keeping the car running, or putting food on the table while they steady their footing.
For Service Members and their Families.
Active-duty service members, including activated Guard and Reserve members, and their families qualify when they face unexpected hardships tied to deployment, military activity, injury, or other financial stress. To apply, you provide proof of your military status and the hardship, then submit a request through the VFW. Each request is reviewed individually.
