PLANNED GIVING
A BEQUEST COSTS YOU NOTHING TODAY.
Name the VFW Foundation in your will or living trust and direct a gift that takes effect after your lifetime. Gift a percentage of your estate, a fixed amount, or the residual after other gifts are fulfilled. Your assets stay in your control today and you can revise the provision at any time.
NAME US WITHOUT REWRITING YOUR WILL.
Designate the VFW Foundation as a beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance policy, or bank and investment accounts through a payable-on-death or transfer-on-death form. These gifts pass directly to the VFW Foundation outside of probate, and updating a beneficiary form takes minutes through your account provider.
A TRUST CAN GIVE AND RETURN INCOME.
A charitable remainder trust (CRT) pays income to you or your loved ones for a set term, then delivers the remainder to the VFW Foundation. A charitable lead trust (CLT) does the reverse, funding the VFW Foundation first and returning the remainder to your heirs. Both carry tax advantages that your advisor can model for your situation.
