PROGRAM:
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR SERVICE MEMBERSFinancial Assistance Supports Our Heroes in Times of Need
At the VFW Foundation, we believe that financial difficulties should not be on the list of unique challenges active-duty service members, including activated Guard and Reserve members, and their families face. That’s why the Financial Assistance for Service Members program was established—to offer crucial financial support during our heroes’ toughest times.
What is the FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR SERVICE MEMBERS Program?
Financial Assistance for Service Members provides financial assistance to those who have encountered unexpected hardships due to:
- Deployment
- Military Pay Error not at the fault of the service member
- Medical Discharge due to service-connected injuries/illnesses received while on active-duty orders
This program offers grants of up to $2,500 to cover daily necessities. Importantly, these grants are not loans, meaning no repayment is required. To further alleviate stress, we pay creditors directly, resulting in peace of mind financial relief can bring.
The Impact of Your Support
Your contributions to the Financial Assistance for Service Members program make a profound difference. By donating, you help ensure that our service members and their families receive aid quickly, letting them to focus on their duties without the burden of financial stress. Your support is more than a donation—it’s a lifeline during a time of need.
