Unmet needs:
Financial Assistance for Veterans and Their Families
For Donors: The Unmet Needs program is the foundation’s solution to the financial crises that can affect military families due to deployment, military-related activities or injuries. By providing grants—not loans—of up to $2,500, we directly pay creditors, offering peace of mind and stability to those in dire need. Your support ensures that these families receive timely aid, helping them navigate through their toughest times without financial burden.
For Veterans: If you or your family are experiencing financial hardship because of military service, the Unmet Needs program is here to offer you support. With grants that require no repayment, we aim to provide a significant relief during your time of need.

Educational Support for Veterans

For Veterans: Facing educational challenges? The “Sport Clips Help a Hero Scholarship” offers up to $5,000 to help cover tuition and fees, so you can focus on your studies and achieving your educational aspirations without financial stress.

Disaster Relief:
BOOTS-ON-THE-GROUND HELP WHEN THE UNIMAGINABLE HAPPENS
A Florida hurricane, a California wildfire or an Oklahoma tornado—wherever and whenever a major disaster occurs in the United States, there is a network of over 6,000 VFW Posts in almost every U.S. city ready to comfort and provide for the victims thanks to your generous support.
Your much-appreciated donation will go toward our general disaster relief fund so that VFW volunteers can mobilize immediately when unimaginable and tragic disasters strike that require urgent intervention.
Recovering from a disaster is easier when you have the quick response and support from a local VFW Post. Unlike other organizations that usually do not keep an ongoing presence in many affected areas, VFW volunteers are already there. They know what needs to be done.
In a disaster relief situation, boots-on-the-ground VFW members are ready to help at a moment’s notice!
